Odisha has won the first prize in the National Mineral Development Award as the best performing state in its initiative in mining exploration, auction and management.
Odisha Mines Minister Prafulla Mallick received the award from Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah at the 6th National Conclave on Mines and Minerals organized as part of Azdi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Iconic Week celebrations by the Mines Ministry in New Delhi on Tuesday.
Odisha received this prestigious award for the best performing State. The State has bagged the coveted award in Category I for best performing State which took initiative in exploration, auction and operationlisation of mines.
The Minister said that Odisha has bagged the first prize worth Rs 3 crore in the National Mineral Development Awards for excellence in the mining sector.
