In a major push to Odisha’s industrial growth, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday launched 14 industrial projects worth ₹5,770 crore, paving the way for the creation of more than 37,000 employment opportunities. The projects, spanning diverse sectors, reaffirm the state’s growing appeal as a premier investment destination in eastern India.

The Chief Minister inaugurated a ₹624-crore state-of-the-art facility by Varun Beverages Limited at Malipada in Khurda district. He also laid the foundation stone for 13 other projects, all located in Khurda, through a coordinated three-location ceremony held at the New Industrial Estate in Haldiapada, the Industrial Estate in Mundamba, and the Khordha Textile Park in Kalibeti.

Held just 60 days after the Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave 2025, the mega event reflected the state government’s rapid stride in translating investment commitments into on-ground realities. “These projects are more than industrial units—they are growth engines for our state, employment generators for our youth, and milestones on our journey to a ‘Samrudh Odisha’,” said Chief Minister Majhi, highlighting the government’s commitment to building a productive, inclusive, and globally competitive Odisha.

The industrial projects span key sectors such as food processing, textiles and apparel, technical textiles, mechanical and electrical capital goods, packaging, and refractories. Notable companies participating in the development include Jupiter Tatravagonka Railwheel Factory Private Limited, Polimiroir India Private Limited, Shalimar Glass Works Private Limited, and IFGL Refractories Limited.

The Chief Minister began the day at the Haldiapada Industrial Park, performing the groundbreaking ceremony for multiple units. At Khordha One Industrial Estate, he inaugurated the Varun Beverages unit and laid the foundation stone for Nestlé India’s upcoming Mega Food Factory. The day concluded with a site visit to Trimetro Garments India Pvt. Ltd. (EPIC Group) at the Khordha Textile Park, where the foundation stone was laid for workers’ hostel facilities, reinforcing support infrastructure for the apparel cluster.

Minister for Industries, Skill Development & Technical Education, Sampad Chandra Swain, also addressed the event, emphasizing the state’s thrust on industrial infrastructure, skill development, and regional diversification to create sustainable growth hubs across Odisha.
