OP Singh assumes additional charge as CMD of MCL

Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) Director (Technical/Operations), OP Singh, on Saturday assumed the additional charge of company’s Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD).

A mining engineer with a First Class competency certificate from the DGMS and an MBA in Marketing and PG DCA, Singh has held various senior positions in mine planning and production management in both underground and opencast projects during his long experience of about 37 years in the coal industry.

Before joining MCL as Director (Technical) in 2016, Singh served for more than 32 years in Bilaspur (CG)-headquartered South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) and Coal Mine Planning and Design Institute Limited (CMPDI), Bilaspur.

Soon after assuming charge, the new CMD chaired a meeting with the senior officers and union representatives. Director (Personnel) Keshav Rao, and CVO PK Patel were prominent among senior officers present at the meeting.
