The Paradip Port Authority (PPA), under the leadership of Chairman PL Haranadh, solemnly observed Ambedkar Jayanti to commemorate the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the principal architect of the Indian Constitution. Marked with reverence, the occasion celebrated Dr. Ambedkar’s enduring legacy as a social reformer and champion of justice and equality.
The day began with a floral tribute at the statue of Dr. Ambedkar, where members of the PPA fraternity gathered to honour his remarkable contributions to nation-building and his relentless fight against social discrimination.
In the evening, a commemorative meeting was held at Jayadev Sadan. Jagatsinghpur MP Dr. Bibhu Prasad Tarai attended the event as Chief Guest and highlighted the contemporary relevance of Dr. Ambedkar’s ideals. The meeting was presided over by Capt. A.C. Sahoo, Deputy Conservator, while Chairman PL Haranadh graced the occasion as Guest of Honour. Former Trustee Paresh Murmu was present as Special Guest.
Noted speakers Dhaneswar Sahoo, retired Professor of Philosophy at BJB College, and Prasant Kumar Mallik, Vice President of the National Human Rights Sabha, delivered thought-provoking lectures on Dr. Ambedkar’s influence in today’s socio-political landscape.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Parau Tudu, Deputy Secretary, PPA.
