The employees of Steel Melting Shop–I and Raw Material Handling Plant of SAIL-run Rourkela Steel Plant, have bagged Safety awards in HAZAN (Hazard Analysis) Competition – 2022 organised recently by SAIL Safety Organisation (SSO), Ranchi.
Senior Technicians JD Mohapatra and AK Samantara, and SMS–I MOMT SK Das won the third prize for their project “Preventing Fire Hazard arising from accidental free opening of ladle on Turret before it reaches casting point.”
Another team comprising Raw Material Handling Plant MOMTs Dilip Kumar Patel, Susanta Kumar Samal and Alok Kumar Jena won the consolation prize for the project “Alleviation of menace at Sample Cutter.”
In a function held recently, RSP ED (Works) SR Suryawanshi presented the awards to the groups. Many Chief General Managers and senior officers of the Steel Plant were present on the occasion. GM Incharge (Safety & Fire) SC Mohanty coordinated the function.
HAZAN Award competition is the competition where innovation and modification jobs undertaken as the outcome of hazard analysis, is presented for strengthening the safety culture and safety net within the organisation.
