ROURKELA, JUNE 5, 2021
Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) joined the rest of the world in observing World Environment Day on Saturday.

He also emphasized upon the need of further reducing specific energy consumption. Adoption and installation of latest techniques will definitely help in reducing air, water and land pollution, but effort should be made to ensure zero discharge, said the CEO.
Apart from adopting the latest environment friendly steel making technologies, RSP has also taken various measures for treatment of pollutants at their source of generation. Electrostatic Precipitators, Bag Houses, Multi Cyclones, Dry Fog Dust Suppression Systems, Dust Suppression Systems and Wet Scrubbers etc. have been installed in various units to reduce or separate air pollutants.
This apart, RSP has also taken up various green projects for environment protection viz., installation of Solar Power Plant, installation of 40KLD Solar Water Heating Systems in Ispat General Hospital, LED lighting system in place of traditional lighting system in Township and inside steel plant etc.
