Second dose of Covid-19 vaccine in Odisha from Feb 14

Over 3.5 lakh registered health workers in Odisha will be inoculated the second dose of Covid-19 vaccine as the vaccination drive will begin in State from February 14.

State Health Director Dr. Bijay Panigrahi told media persons that those who had been vaccinated during the first phase of vaccination on January 16, will be inoculated in turns as it requires a prescribed gap of 28 days from the first dose administered.

The first dose of vaccine has been planned to end by February 10 so that the mandatory second dose could begin from February 14, he said.

Dr. Panigrahi further said that 1,52,351 persons have already been immunized till date as against the vaccination target of 1.92 lakh beneficiaries for the first phase.

He also informed that the Covid warriors of three departments – Urban Development, Home and Revenue – will be vaccinated in the second phase.

The figure of the registered beneficiaries will be known by midnight on Monday, he added.
