Skilling India at Rajgangpur and Lanjiberna in Odisha

With a massive population seeking jobs, skilling youth becomes highly important to make them employment ready, while providing a skilled talent pool to industries and enterprises to add to their workforce.

As India grapples with the socioeconomic and health impact of the pandemic for over a year now, skilling Indian youth for the big employment generating sectors and strengthening them with technical know-how, education and training is a major step towards creating a self-sustaining growth ecosystem for the Indian economy. Just as the government efforts, private enterprises too have a key role to play in imparting skill education to the Indian youth.

In a bid to add to the Skill India movement, the Dalmia Bharat Foundation, under the agreement signed with the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), has committed to skill 60,000 youths with 70 percent gainful employment by 2025 as a part of its sustainability efforts.

As a significant step in this direction, the not-for-profit arm of leading industry giant, the Dalmia Bharat Foundation initiated a project of Rs.7 lakh with NABARD, Sundergarh to provide training and employment support to 60 unemployed youth residing in Rajgangpur and Lanjiberna Mines area.

Under the skilling project, 30 youth will undergo training on Electrical and 30 youth in Customer Relationship Manager (CRM) Non-voice trade followed by placement opportunity to all these youths.

Dalmia Bharat Foundation and NABARD implement various joint sustainability efforts and design and launch sustainable pilot programmes on soil and water conservation, renewable energy and climate change, livelihood and skill training, micro-infrastructure and intra-village infrastructure development.

Dalmia Bharat Foundation has Odisha in its key focus states, along with other states including Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, North Eastern Region, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and Rajasthan.

Being at the forefront of implementation of several programmes, Dalmia Bharat Group is focusing on conservation and judicious utilization of natural resources for co-creation of sustainable livelihood in the country.
