BHUBANESWAR, MAY 14, 2024 (TBB BUREAU): Tata Steel’s Ferro Alloys and Minerals Division (FAMD) clinched the esteemed “Productivity Excellence Award – 2023” during the Productivity Day Celebration – 2024 held on Tuesday. Hosted by the Orissa State Productivity Council in collaboration with the National Productivity Council, the event recognized FAMD’s outstanding performance.
FAMD secured the coveted award following its participation in a virtual competition on Artificial Intelligence (AI) – Productivity Engine for Economic Growth earlier this year. The competition aimed to spotlight inventive AI applications for enhancing productivity across industries. Tata Steel impressed with groundbreaking presentations and case studies, highlighting its pioneering use of AI to optimize logistics and enhance water management efficiency.
Pankaj Satija, Executive-In-Charge (FAMD) at Tata Steel, expressed his elation, emphasizing the company’s dedication to leveraging advanced technologies for sustainable growth and stakeholder value. Representatives including Devraj Tiwary, Head (Sukinda Chromite Mine), Amit Choubey, Head (Logistics), Soumya Basu, Senior Area Manager (Supply Chain), and Debajyoti Pati, Deputy Manager (IT), received the award on behalf of Tata Steel. Natasha Jha, Head (Projects, Technology and Improvement), was also in attendance.
