Teachers are the backbone of society. They have a greater responsibility in nation building as they offer proper guidance and give young people the power of education, said Birla Global University Odisha Vice Chancellor Prof (Dr.) PP Mathur.
Speaking at a conference on “Empowering Educators”, organised by the Bhubaneswar Chapter of the Institute of Company Secretary of India (ICSI) on Sunday as part of the Teachers’ Week celebrations, Prof. Mathur said that a teacher should be a role model for the students. He further said that high ethical standards should be inculcated in a teacher.
ASBM University Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Ranjan Kumar Bal, who graced the event as the Guest of Honour, said a teacher should appreciate the students and demonstrate as a leader in teaching and encourage the students to work in team. Students expect a lot from the teachers and teachers should come forward to help them, he advised.
In the technical sessions of the conference, Sri Sri University Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) BR Sharma spoke on “Stress Management through Yoga”.
Xavier Institute of Management Professor of Accounting Dr. DV Ramana talked about teachers’ skills.
ICSI EIRC Chairman Soumya Sujit Mishra, ICSI Bhubaneswar Chapter Chairman Bimal Prasad Pattanaik, BPUT Dean (Management) Prof (Dr.) SR Mohapatra, XIM University Dean – School of Commerce Dr. P K Mohanty also addressed the conference on “Empowering Educators”.
A large number of teachers and professors from senior secondary schools, colleges, universities and other educational institutions of Odisha attended the conference.
