Ride-hailing app Uber has announced collaboration with the Airports Authority of India (AAI) to revolutionize ground transportation services at Biju Patnaik International Airport, Bhubaneswar. The strategic partnership comes in response to the airport’s staggering 69 per cent surge in air traffic over the last fiscal year, highlighting the pressing need for enhanced connectivity solutions. This joint effort is geared towards redefining transportation options, ensuring passengers experience seamless connectivity between the airport and their destinations.
Shiva Shailendran, Director of Supply Operations at Uber India and South Asia, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “Our alliance with Biju Patnaik International Airport signifies a significant leap towards reimagining airport journeys. Teaming up with AAI underscores our commitment to enhancing transportation options for airport travelers, offering dependable and stress-free experiences upon arrival or departure from Bhubaneswar Airport.”
Under this collaboration, Uber will introduce several rider-centric enhancements to elevate the overall airport travel experience. These include a dedicated pickup area at the arrival terminal, complemented by on-site assistance and a comprehensive step-by-step wayfinding guide. This guidance facilitates riders’ navigation from the gate to the Uber pickup zone. Furthermore, in a bid to enhance convenience, Uber driver-partners will benefit from designated parking spaces, resulting in reduced estimated arrival times (ETAs) for riders.
