Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest aluminium producer, partnered with the Directorate of Factories and Boilers, Government of Odisha, to conduct a comprehensive one-day industrial safety training program at its Jharsuguda operations. This initiative, supported by the Department of Labour and ESI, aims to instill a strong safety culture and enhance awareness among industry professionals across various industrial zones in the state.
The training program was graced by esteemed dignitaries including Odisha Labour & ESI Department Secretary RS Gopalan and Deputy Director of Factories & Boilers (Safety) Dr. Malay Kumar Pradhan, who joined virtually. Also in attendance were Deputy Director of Factories & Boilers (Sambalpur Division) Swaroop Jena, Asst. Director of Factories & Boilers, Jharsuguda Archana Das, and Asst. Director of Factories & Boilers, Sambalpur Umakanta Samantaray.
Led by expert trainers from the Institute of Quality and Environment Management Services (IQEMS) Pvt. Ltd., the training covered essential topics such as process safety, behavior-based safety, leadership, fire and explosion safety, and risk-based thinking. The comprehensive curriculum equipped participants with valuable insights and practical knowledge to enhance safety practices in their respective industries. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation, with over 400 attendees representing various industries in western Odisha.

RS Gopalan commended the training program as a crucial platform for industries to share insights and demonstrate best practices in industrial safety. The active participation and contributions of attendees underscore their commitment to raising safety standards in their workplaces.
