NEW DELHI, APRIL 04, 2024 (TBB BUREAU): Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest producer of aluminium, on Thursday marked a significant milestone in its ambitious expansion journey aimed at positioning itself among the top 3 global players with an impressive 3 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of aluminium production capacity.
In a monumental move towards achieving complete vertical integration, the company announced the successful commissioning of a new 1.5 MTPA expansion at its state-of-the-art alumina refinery at Lanjigarh in Odisha. The additional 1.5 MTPA capacity is a pivotal component of Vedanta Aluminium’s ongoing expansion initiative, aimed at elevating the overall nameplate capacity at the Lanjigarh refinery from the current 2 MTPA to an impressive 5 MTPA, effectively bolstering its support for the increasing aluminium production.
