Viksit Bharat: Centurion University hosts international conference on sustainable growth and innovation

Paralakhemundi, September 28, 2024 (TBB Bureau): Centurion University of Technology and Management (CUTM), in collaboration with the Operational Research Society of India (ORSI), Bhubaneswar Chapter, successfully concluded the two-day International Conference on “Viksit Bharat: Innovative Business, Agriculture, Technology, and Resource Management for Sustainable Growth” on Friday. The event attracted over 200 participants, including global experts, researchers, and policymakers from more than 15 countries, both in-person and virtually.

Hosted at CUTM’s Paralakhemundi campus, renowned for its focus on agricultural sciences, fisheries, and veterinary education, the conference aligned with India’s vision for a developed and inclusive Viksit Bharat by 2047. The campus has emerged as a hub for sustainability and innovation, with its School of Agriculture recently receiving NAAC accreditation. This institution plays a critical role in advancing sustainable agricultural practices, livestock management, and aquaculture through pioneering research and training initiatives.

One of the conference’s major highlights was the keynote session, “Sustainable Development for Viksit Bharat: The Way Forward,” chaired by Abha Mishra from UNDP, Odisha. The session featured a panel of global experts who discussed key topics, including the impact of AgriTech on sustainable agriculture and innovative resource management strategies — essential pillars of the Viksit Bharat initiative.

The conference also featured 160 research paper presentations, fostering collaboration between seasoned professionals and emerging researchers. This exchange of ideas is seen as vital in developing innovative solutions for India’s future. Attendees were also presented with a Book of Abstracts cum Souvenir, which encapsulated the key discussions and breakthroughs from the sessions.

Centurion University’s leadership, including President Prof. Mukti Kanta Mishra and Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Supriya Pattanayak, highlighted the conference’s role in driving sustainable growth. “This event has strengthened our commitment to innovation and collaboration, both of which are critical to realizing India’s aspirations for 2047,” said Prof. Mishra.

The conference concluded with a renewed resolve to pursue sustainable development, foster international partnerships, and support groundbreaking research that enhances India’s growth narrative.
