The World Environment Day was observed at the Cuttack unit of UltraTech Cement Works on Monday in the presence of the senior management and employees of the company.
Project Head Dinesh Gupta and Unit Head Purushottam graced the occasion and deliberated upon the theme of the Day. They appealed the audience to say “No to Plastic” and suggested different ways to provide solution to single-use plastic. They also deliberated on ways of checking the plastic pollution like collection, separation and recycling of plastic wastes.
They also stressed upon how small steps by each individual will lead to a big step collectively to check this plastic pollution. Quiz, painting and slogan writing competitions were held amongst the children; and plantation drives were organized by the company to mark the occasion.
The programme was coordinated by the UltraTech Cuttack Cements Works Environment Department official Manoranan Saa.
