Bhubaneswar, August 14, 2024 (TBB Bureau): The 40th Sub-Junior & 50th Junior National Aquatic Championship, recently held in Bhubaneswar, saw the rise of the Deshwal twins, Saanvi and Anvi, as the standout performers. The event, organized by the Swimming Federation of India, brought together over 1,000 young swimmers from across the country, showcasing India’s emerging talent in aquatic sports.
The twins were instrumental in Maharashtra’s triumph in the Girls Group II category, where they collectively earned 4 Gold and 4 Silver medals. Saanvi Deshwal, in particular, made waves with exceptional performances. On the first day, she broke the meet record in the 50-meter breaststroke with a time of 34.32 seconds, surpassing the previous record set in 2022. On the final day, Saanvi also set a new Junior National Record in the 100-meter breaststroke, clocking in at 1:15.30 seconds, besting the 2018 record.
