Country’s largest lender State Bank of India (SBI) organised a loan mela at Nalapanga (Janghira) in Keonjhar for self help groups (SHGs) of the locality, on Wednesday.
During the programme, 50 SHGs were handed over credit linkage sanction letters whose total credit limit amounts to Rs.91.80 lakh.
Keonjhar Collector Ashish Thakare who graced the function as chief guest, expressed satisfaction at the SBI initiative and urged the Bank authorities to carry forward the activity more vigorously.
In response, SBI Bhubaneswar Circle Chief General Manager Ruma Dey reiterated the Bank’s commitment to push for more credit uptake in rural areas and to actively participate in all such activities.
Later, wheelchairs were donated to 5 Dibyangs as part of the Bank’s CSR initiative.
In another event organised by SBI Padmapur Branch, sanction letters for 29 KCC dairy loans amounting to Rs.7.17 lakh were handed over to the dairy farmers.
