NTPC Kaniha celebrates 76th Independence Day



The Talcher Kaniha Unit of NTPC Ltd celebrated 76th year of Independence on the theme “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” with patriotic fervour here on Monday.

Chief Guest and NTPC Talcher KanihaChief General Manager KS Sundaram hoisted the National Flag followed by singing of National Anthem. Sundaram received CISF guard of honour followed by inspection of the parade.

Addressing the gathering at the Dr B R Ambedkar Statdium, SSundaram paid tributes to the sacrifices made by our great freedom fighters and recalled their glorious contribution during the freedom struggle.

During the address he listed down the feats achieved by Talcher Kaniha Unit and lauded the team work of employees and associates working in tandem to ensure uninterrupted power to the nation during the Covid-19 pandemic. He said that NTPC Kaniha is performing well in all areas and currently stands first among all NTPC stations.  He appreciated team Kaniha for the achievements and urged everyone to keep up the good work. NTPC Kaniha has undertaken various CSR activities showcasing the station’s commitment towards community development such as the Girl Empowerment Mission, Mobile Health Units and various Skill development activities, he added. He concluded his address by thanking all stakeholders and district administration for their support in the success of NTPC Talcher.

On this occasion, Sundaram along with senior officials, representatives of Unions & Associations, SC/ST association, Ladies Club members presented meritorious awards to 70 employees, and Power Excel award to 5 employees. CISF employees were also awarded for their contribution.
