A mega blood donation camp was organized, jointly by the Odisha Police Sambalpur and Hindalco at Hirakud in the Main Colony Community Hall in which around 270 units of blood were collected.
The blood donation camp was inaugurated by Sambalpur Superintendent of Police B Gangadhar in the presence of Hindalco Sambalpur Cluster Head Kailash Pandey, SDPO Hirakud Burla Satyabrata Dash, IIC Hirakud Police Station Jagyanseni Nayak, FRP Head Surjeet Mitra, Hindalco Smelter Head Debasis Mallick, Power Plant Head Prajal Pathak, Hindalco Cluster Finance Head Srinath Mishra and Hindalco Chief Medical Officer Subratto Chatterjee.
Encouraging the blood donors, Sambalpur SP B Ganagadhar said, “Looking at the acute blood shortage in DHQ Hospital Sambalpur and VIMSAR Burla and considering the difficulties of the general public of Sambalpur District, I had requested Hindalco to organise this mega blood donation camp as it has the expertise of conducting such mega camps. I am thankful to Hindalco authorities for organising such a camp in a short span of time.” He also appealed the general public to extend their support to such noble cause in future too.
Hindalco Sambalpur Cluster Head lauded the efforts of volunteers, various organisations, local club members and members of Mahila Sanghas. He also thanked the general public of Hirakud for their wholehearted support for this noble cause; and congratulated the blood donors for coming forward to donate blood at a time when the hospitals are facing a critical shortage of blood.
The blood donation camp was organised under active coordination of Krishna Padhi, Head–HR, Hindalco Hirakud.
The camp was well coordinated by the officers and staff of Hirakud Police, and employees of the Hindalco Health Care Centre and CSR Department of Hindalco.
