Over 400 members of local self help groups (SHGs) attended a programme organised by Aditya Aluminium, Lapanga at Maliatkra Playground of Lapanga GP on the occasion of International Women’s Day. These SHGs, supported by Aditya Aluminium, Lapanga under Mission Shakti, are working to build a healthy and empowered society in COVID-19 world.
Sambalpur District Social Welfare Officer Gitanjali Mishra graced the programme as chief guest. District Mission Shakti Coordinator and local PRI members were also present in the event.
The speakers emphasized upon the need to provide equal opportunities to women in all spheres without any gender discrimination. They unanimously accepted the enormous contributions of women towards the society in each and every domain.
Applauding the efforts of women employees in the company, the HR Head of Aditya Aluminium, Dr. Vivekanand Mishra said that going forward the Company will have 30 percent women employees.
Prior to this grand event, women’s sports had been successfully organized by the Aditya Aluminium CSR team in 9 clusters across 6 operational gram panchayats where 475 members from 120 SHGs had participated with great enthusiasm.
