AIR Cuttack Asst. Director Mrutyunjaya Samal superannuates

        Superannuation of All India Radio Cuttack Assistant Director Mrutyunjaya Samal came as a shocker for listeners as they would now be deprived of hearing his soothing voice.

Samal, who joined All India Radio (AIR) in February 1988, superannuated on June 30, 2022 from AIR, Cuttack. He also served at AIR Rourkela and AIR Keonjhar during his service.

During his career as a broadcaster, he won hearts of thousands of listeners by producing, presenting and introducing innovative and listener-friendly programmes. His presentation of morning information program “Pravat Parikrama”, issue-based response program “Darpan”, dialogue-based current affairs program “Charchare”, listeners’ opinion based program “Aajira Prashna”, program on correct writing and pronunciation of Odia language “Thik Kahantu Thik Lekhantu”, monthly literary magazine “Sahitya Sansad”, interview-based talk programme “Mananiyeshu”  are a few to mention of his creative talent. He was also known for presenting the Odia rendition of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s monthly radio address “Mann ki Baat” which he was performing till his retirement.

A function was held at AIR, Cuttack office on June 30 to give farewell to Samal on his superannuation which was attended by AIR Cuttack chief Prakash Kumar Pati, Vividha Bharati Cuttack chief Chiranjeevi Routray, AIR staff, many listeners and Listeners’ Associations.
