Centurion University’s geospatial workshop at Bhubaneswar campus

A two-day workshop was organized by Centurion University in association with PAN India (Trimble), at the University’s Bhubaneswar campus on May 29-30, 2023 to deliberate on the advanced technology in various geospatial applications.

The workshop was inaugurated by Campus Director Prof. Jagannath Padhi and Dean SoET Dr. Sujata Chakraborty.

PAN India consultants, Umesh Kumar and V Sharma provided hands-on training on the advanced technology adopted in various geospatial applications in present global scenario to the participants which included under-graduates, research scholars and faculty personnel.

Professor Dr. Ashis Kumar Padhi from the Department of Geography of Utkal University also addressed the audience about his experience in geospatial world.

The utility of the workshop was briefed by the workshop convenor Dr. Kamal Kumar Barik, HoD, Civil Engineering Department of Bhubaneswar Campus of Centurion University.

At the advent of smart and green India, the old, orthodox, time consuming and low precision surveying method need to be replaced by modern surveying technology i.e., Total station, GPS/GNSS, Drone and LiDAR, for better planning and management of geospatial domain, said the experts.

Prafulla Kumar Panda, HOD, Civil Engineering Department of Paralakhemundi Campus, gave the vote of thanks.
