In the wake of the recent flood in Jagatsinghpur district, JSW Foundation and district administration distributed special relief packages in the flood-affected areas.
Recently, coastal belts of Odisha received an unprecedented monsoon rainfall causing the Mahanadi River basin to flood. Some villages of Jagatsinghpur district have been submerged in the flood water. Particularly, Kujang and Tirtol blocks have been ravaged by the seasonal downpours and flood.
JSW Foundation and district administration distributed 44,928 packets of biscuits, 4,500 packets of milk powder, 4,500 packets of sanitary pads, 22,500 candles, 25,200 matchsticks and 3,500 packets of mosquito coil in Tirtol Block.
Similarly, the Foundation distributed 55,152 packets of biscuits, 5,540 milk powder packets, 5,500 sanitary pads, 27,500 candles, and 24,800 matchsticks, along with 4,500 mosquito coil packets in Kujang Block.
The Foundation and JSW Utkal Steel authorities visited flood-affected areas and interacted with the people. They also met Jagatsinghpur Collector Parul Patawari and Deputy Collector Dharmendra Malik and assured them of providing all kinds of assistance to the flood-affected people. The Collector praised JSW for providing assistance during such natural calamities. Sarpanches of different blocks also expressed their gratitude to JSW for the initiative.
