NTPC Kaniha celebrates NTPC’s 47th Raising Day

The 47th Raising Day of National Thermal Power Corporation Ltd (NTPC) was celebrated with great enthusiasm at NTPC Talcher Kaniha today while adhering to Covid-19 guidelines.

NTPC Talcher Kaniha ED K Srinivasa Rao unfurled the NTPC flag to mark the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Rao threw light on the glorious journey of the power plant and its contribution in nation building during the last 47 years. “NTPC is among the most acclaimed public sector organisations in the world,” he said.

Highlighting the performance of NTPC Kaniha and its contribution to the power sector, Rao said, “NTPC provided uninterrupted power supply to the nation despite the pandemic.” He complimented the O&M Department for their services. He also mentioned NTPC’s role in the socio-economic development of peripheral areas and the efforts in CSR, environment, safety, human resources development and others.

He thanked the power station’s unions, associations, ladies club and welfare bodies, CISF staff and employees for their valuable contribution.

Senior officials from NTPC and CISF, office bearers of different unions and associations and employees were present on the occasion.

The 47th   Raising Day of NTPC Ltd was also celebrated at NTPC ER-2 headquarters in Bhubaneswar where Executive Director (NTPC Talcher Thermal and Badarpur) DS Rao hoisted the NTPC flag.

Addressing the employees, Rao elucidated the history and growth of the organisation from inception to the present day. He highlighted the operational achievements in all operational power stations under the jurisdiction of the Eastern Region headquarters.
