SBI organises financial literacy camp for farmers

In view of the ongoing financial literacy week by RBI, a mega farmers’ financial literacy camp was organised by the State Bank of India (SBI) at Jagannathpur, Balianta. More than 600 farmers attended the camp.

The camp was inaugurated by Khordha Collector Sanat Kumar Mohanty in presence of SBI Bhubaneswar Circle Chief General Manager Ruma Dey, NABARD CGM C Udaya Bhaskar, SBI Bhubaneswar GM CLN Charyulu, and other senior officials of the Bank.

Lauding the initiatives taken by SBI, the District Magistrate urged the bank authorities to form at least 50 Joint Liability Groups and take Balaram Scheme forward. He also laid stress on various social security schemes of the government.

Speaking on the occasion, SBI CGM Dey appealed to the farmers to go for institutional borrowings, and to take the benefit of interest subvention and timely repayment of loans.

 The NABARD CGM, in his address, urged the farmers to take the benefit of Digital Banking and avail different types of loans from the banks for rural and agricultural development of the State.

Charyulu focused on non-diversion of funds besides proper use and timely repayment of loans.

Other dignitaries highlighted increasing cyber frauds and financial literacy awareness. Three leading farmers of the block were felicitated by SBI.
