Workshop on ‘Safety & Health in Coal-fired Thermal Power Plants’ held at JSP Angul

The Directorate of Factories & Boilers of Angul district on Wednesday organised a divisional level workshop on the theme “Safety & Health in Coal-fired Thermal Power Plants: Hazards, Controls and Best Practices” at Jindal Steel and Power (JSP) auditorium at Nisha, here.

Angul Zone Deputy Director of Factories and Boilers Ramesh Kumar Behera, Angul Zone-1 Assistant Director of Factories and Boilers Archana Dash, JSP Executive Director (i/c) Hridayeswar Jha, JSOL Executive Director Damodar Mittal and other dignitaries attended the workshop and shared their experience and the importance of organising such workshops in regular intervals.

Archana Dash gave the welcome address while Ramesh Kumar Behera spoke on the theme of the workshop and shared his knowledge about occupational diseases.

On this occasion, Pollution Control Board Regional Officer Anup Kumar Mallick addressed the participants and shared his insight on “Dust Emission in Thermal Power Plant” and mitigation measures. 

Along with Hridayeswar Jha and Damodar Mittal, other dignitaries who addressed the workshop and shared their views on the mitigation measures of dust emissions were NALCO ED B Pradhan, NTPC TSTPS ED KS Sundaram, JSP EVP Atul Dubey, NAVA Ltd. VP G Prakash, JITPL Plant Head Raj Kumar Choudhury and TATA  Steel Chief Safety Officer Agam Kumar.

Doctors from Industries in the region joined the workshop and shared their experience on occupational health hazards and the measures thereof.
